6. Useful information ¡V types of materials adopted for different pipe works (water insides / outsides services) :

1. Ductile iron pipes (flange and push joint): standard of BS EN 545, for pressurized fresh, salt and fire services pipelines with internal cement lining.

2. Copper pipe: standard of BS EN 1057, for fresh cold & hot water supplies and fresh fire service upfeed & delivery only.

3. Cast iron pipe: BS 4622, for above ground to first floor with internal cement lining. For fresh cold & hot water supplies, fresh fire service and salt water supply.

4. Unplasticized polyvinyl chloride (PVC-U pipe): BS 3505 Class D-B for fresh cold water supply and salt water inside service only.

5. GI with PVC-C living pipe: BS 1387, for fresh cold & hot water supplies, fresh fire and salt water services.

6. Polyethylene (PE pipe): BS 6572 for below ground and BS 6730 for above ground. For fresh cold water supply only.
